I make my own no bake power bars with oats, peanut butter, honey, dried fruit, and nuts.
Warm 1/2 a cup of peanut butter and 1/3 cup honey and stir until smooth, add 1 cup quick oats, and 1/3 cup of nuts and dried fruit and press this into a 9 by 9 baking pan and chill for a few hours.
Cut into 8 bars, wrap them in foil and you are good to go... each bar is about 200 calories and has a good mix of carbs, protein, and fat and provides sustained energy with the honey and oats. The dried fruit and nuts add some extra energy and zip... I like roasted almonds and cranberries best.
You can play with the honey amount... the bars will come out fine with 1/4 cup of honey.
How do you get 8 bars from a square pan?
Seriously, thanks for the recipe.
^^^^Nevermind. I just had to think for a sec. I always cut anything cooked in a 9x9 pan into 9 squares.
