I haven't seen the bike yet but it looks clean in this better photo. Gaucho 777, the bike license plate on the front wheel is from '77-'78 but I don't know if it is original to the bike or just anther orange bit. I haven't paid too much attention to French bike threads but does this bike have the somewhat dreaded cottered cranks and "plastic" RD? It seems to have mismatched tires and 27" (?) wheels. If I replace the 27" wheels with 700c will the brakes have sufficient reach for the smaller 700c rim? I can't tell from the photo.
