Tires are so subjective. I've never ridden a Conti that I liked. To me, the ride is harsh. Both have decent flat protection. Schwalbe Marathons come in a version that's nearly bombproof, and the sidewall has a reflectorized strip that's very visible from the side. You need to be sure the tires will clear your frame.
