Interesting point. I didn't think of figuring out who else is selling this same frame under a different label. Great.

The pros/cons of different hub widths... maybe we need a separate thread for that. I'll find out what size rear hub the Pegasus takes when we go down there for a ride. It seems to me 135 OCD is great because parts are easier to find. But wider adds up to a stronger wheel (since spokes are more evenly tensioned/wheel less dished). Anyway.

Woh woh woh, more hub widths?! This is definitely grounds for another thread. Santana seems to be using 160 now, but all this talk leads me to believe they've done quite a few other sizes as well.

We're tangenting here, but I've looked into Santana steerer diameters and it sounds like this Santana is much too recent to have a problem with it's fork. The batch of bad forks were limited to 100 bikes in the 80's and almost all are certainly replaced:

On the other hand, if you're talking about the recommendation that 1 inchers be replaced, it sounds like that's only after 15 years of riding:
http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-794470.html

But then again, you mentioned 1-1/4 inches forks, so maybe you're talking about an issue that my googling hasn't turned up. In which case, let's discuss more!

Thanks everyone for the help. If anyone wants to discuss the Santana more, I suggest we fork it to a new thread.
