Evangelism is not the same as snobbery, although poor writing can make it seem so sometimes. Yes there might possibly lurk a number of snobs in the 41 for instance, and out there on the roads of the world. (Is it too late to get nominated for understatement of the year?)
The posters on the Clyde forum are awesome and supportive, as well as informative.
I try and always encourage anyone to ride, ride more, ride almost anything (Anything safe.)
I do try and encourage people to get a decent bike, one that will not fall apart, one they will ride. I try very hard to get people to try a road bike, not to get steered away from a drop bar road bike. I'm sure that some people are trying to do this come off as snobs.
