Could you be more specific where the pain is:
... How far below the kneecap? 1/4", 1", 2", etc...

I had what I feared was knee problem, but turned out to be strained medial Quad... The pain was ''below the kneecap and inside' -- but it was about 3" below -- where the muscle attaches to the tibia...
