3) The Simplex front derailleur is worse than the rear, and the shift levers are nothing to brag about. If any of this kit breaks, don't hesitate to replace with SunTour, Shimano, or the like, again, if the bike is a daily driver rather than a garage queen.
Or you can replace with a vintage Huret Allvit or Svelto. But really the Simplex derailleurs will last a long time if not abused.
