i hope the people in the thread don't take this the wrong way, but you are asking that to an American.
i negotiated 46 holidays per year and unlimited sick leave (and a 35h work week to boot!) into my new contract.
on the other side of the pond, vacation days usually turn into "personal" days and not always "travel" holiday days
