When I was an undergrad at Cal, I'd swim at Spieker and for open swim times there'd be signs: slow, medium, fast, fast-fast, and fast-fast-fast. I assumed that Matt Biondi and Mary T. Meagher were working out in the fast-fast-fast lanes.
