It does seem a bit heavy-handed, but in this day and age of counterfeiting and such I can see it from the company perspective. Tho I would think they could've worked with the guy a bit and given some kind of an out.

I do have a problem with the article pointing out he was a vet, it deflects the whole purpose of the article and is superfluous as several have pointed out here.
