Yeast thrive in warm damp environments.
Keeping the area(s), clothing clean, & dry will help.
Talc powder helps to keep the area dry, & the material used in you shorts/bibs will help wick away moisture too.

I've always bought high/mid end bibs, & I've never had to deal with problems in the "nether region".
Not sure if there's a difference in high/mid/entry level bib/shorts/chamois, but I don't feel bad spending a bit more if it helps for comfort, or anything regarding "the jewels".
