Sounds like urban legend. Such a thing, if it existed, would not be allowed to easily fall into the hands of common bike thieves. There are bump keys, pen keys and other devices that apparently work against name brand bike locks and can be fashioned at home by committed bike thieves. Why would a bike thief need to try and somehow obtain (buy!) a factory master key when they can make one??
