Another studded Boston rider here.

I have a dedicated winter bike so I can easily pull out the regular commuter bike if there's a warming trend but I love the confidence of studded tires. Prior to using studded tires I would convince myself I could handle anything but have to admit that pretty much every year I'd get slammed to the ground by an ice patch, take a few days off the bike to recover and then get back in the saddle again and pretend it never happened.

I'm more honest with myself these days.
