microfibers and synthetics may use a small amount of petrochemicals in their manufacture but in my experience they last longer and are more hygenic than wool.
Seriously ?

One of the benefits of wool is that is resists odours and bacteria, it has yet to be surpassed by any man made fibre for warmth, stays warm when it gets wet, and washing wool is not that hard to do when it needs it.

I use wool and synthetics... but if I could only have one it would be wool.

If you care for it properly it lasts forever, we have a front loader that handles wool just fine on gentle.
