At the start of every week, we should pick one topic for a serious and informative cycling related discussion.
For next week, I propose we discuss what kind of shoe works best on platform pedals. Everyone always asks about clipless, but there is so little discussion for the forgotten minority..those who resist the tyranny of the clipless fad.

I can get pedals for $15-ish. Shoes for $30-ish. One-legged drills are possible with a little practice.
I've been digging the Vans Rowleys, but the latest ones I got have kinda weak heel support. They were much firmer back there on the 2007-ish ones I have.
Lotta MTB bros rave about five-ten shoes but I'm loath to drop that kinda coin on trainers.
