Help and suggestions for putting in front hub bearings - DT Swiss 240

Bought a pair of wheels with dt swiss 240 hubs (aeolus d3). The front hub bearings seemed a little sticky in one spot, so I removed them to clean them up before I used them. Not sure what conditions they were ridden before, but everything inside looked super clean. When I put the bearings back in, by tapping the edge of the bearing and using a large socket... The bearings sounded like a small piece of paint, or small metal shard from the inside of the hub got into the bearing. You could hear the friction from something small rubbing inside the hub.

So I figured something got in the bearing, bought 2 new ones... cleaned the inside of the hub...went through the install process again. And now the SAME ISSUE AGAIN! Using enduro 6803 2rs llb bearings... They look great, and I cant believe something is getting in that seal so quickly too cause this issue.

Going to buy 2 more news and talk to some LBS's and see if one of them uses a bearing press or something.

Any ideas of what is going on here or other suggestions?
