I recently converted an old Bianchi Mountain bike to a 700c road bike. I am using Tectro dual pivot road brakes so my question is no longer relevant, but I am curious anyway. Could I have used cantilever brakes? Is there a difference between road cantilevers and mountain cantilevers so that the same braze-on posts can be used for different size wheels, or are the posts positioned differently on the two types of frames so the same brakes will work on either?
