The 0nly bad thing about a colonoscopy is the prep you drink. The actual procedure is very pleasant, if done by a person that knows what they are doing. Believe me when I say some do them that should not be doing them so choose wisely. Questions to ask- how many a week do you do, any bowel perforations from doing them, if so how many. Success rate in taking out polyps? How many missed cancers or tumors. If yes to any of the above find another doc. There is absolutely no reason a colonoscopist should have perforations....none. I have done thousands without having one and unfortunately I have had to operate on more than a few perforations from overly aggressive docs. Good luck and remember, they do save a lot of lives.
