Well, I guess that was a whole lot of worry for nothing. When we left my house there is a 1 mile road straight out. We were coasting along at a very comfortable pace, side by side, and I asked him where he wanted to go. He said that he didn't care, he was just looking for a couple of hours and the pace that we were going was just fine. We spent a couple of hours side by side. There was one narrow section that was about half a mile, I pulled up and he pulled back. Very enjoyable. We covered about 30 miles in a blazing 17mph in 39 degrees with a hell of a lot of wind.

Now it's time get my Christmas on.
You see...............you worried over nothing. Sometimes people are not as good as you think. I have found the real good ones hardly talk it up. The POSERS are the ones easiest to spot..............they usually wear matching high dollar cycling clothing; have nice very expensive bikes; drive $80k + SUV's; have no clue on reality. I love eating these folks up on the asphalt! They go away feeling pretty stupid and usually sell that $5k + bike for less than half they paid. They can usually be spotted hauling their bikes on the carriers but never really riding their bikes!

I love this sport for the POSERS! They make me laugh.

BTW- Glad your ride was enjoyable over miserable. Not saying he is not a great rider but he may very well not be what you think!
