I also could not get the kalloy stem to work either, no matter how much I opened it. I ended up removing material to the sides of the clamp bolt area, but it was a lot of work. I think the stem thrifty bill was suggesting is this:http://www.niagaracycle.com/categori...-x-80mm-silver. I also ended up buying this stem in the 21.1mm quill for another bike:http://www.niagaracycle.com/categori...-1-22-2-silver. The clamp area was more malleable and allowed installing a drop bar much easier than the kalloy. There's no cable hanger on this stem, so you'll need a fork crown or headset hanger. Hope that helps.
