Accident - front wheel

Hey guys, I had a minor accident yesterday (luckily). Some guy sped through a red light, I saw him coming from my right about 50 ft away and I hit the brakes hard. I hit the rear of his vehicle and got launched off the bike with just a minor wrist sprain and scratched up elbow. Right after it, I noticed the right front brake pad was lodged underneath the rim which I then pulled back out. Now I am getting a rubbing noise in the front wheel which seems to be the brake pad. When I squeeze the front brakes, only the left side moves and the right does not. The right pad is right up against the rim. The wheel looks aligned correctly to my eyes but take note I am newbie who just got back into cycling, bought my hybrid 6 months ago. Any help would be appreciated, I guess no better time to learn maintenance then now
