You always have the original fork... finding a stem to fit the 1.125 threaded might be a little tricker although I do have a nice adjustable one I could send you.
The only reason I'm not using the original fork is because it lacks fender eyelets, and I'm kind of obsessive about having eyelets.
The funny thing is, the frame itself has MUCH better eyelets than my Surly LHT! Although now that I think about it, I suppose eyelets could be added to the original fork relatively easily, and being black it would be pretty simple to repaint just the affected area. I'll have to think this over...
