pharmaceuticals that are designed
for focus and anxiety relief....they seem to be almost everywhere in academia now.
If you go this route, you need to experiment with dosing prior to your actual testing, because
the difference between being calm and focused using a seratonergic, and being so calm that
answering the questions seems unimportant to you can be quite small, dosewise.
Ritalin was not around for my academic career, but it seems to get rave reviews from users.
Testing anxiety makes otherwise smart people test poorly, so sometimes meditation and breathing
practices can help you to overcome it. I have always tested well and didn't really get it until i was
married to someone with a bad case of it. Standardized tests are a poor way to judge people, but
they are so ubiquitous that you need a strategy to cope with them....especially if you are returning
to school.
