Thanks for the welcome guys.
Ok the pics...red, nope doesn't go faster, that's up to the guy pedalling!
Not complete as the nicks in the paint work don't show up. But not a bad buy at AUD$750 delivered from La Belle France!!
So the year of manufacture, The BB shell shows 'G 2350' Am happy to be corrected here and as for the year. Not much online, am taking punt here say 1994-5-6. going on the one site which has at least attempted to catalogue frames of folks with a Merckx.
At 2.5kg stripped its 1kg heavier than the Gazelle and Raleigh. Both have period Campag. Am no snob but the research to date shows Shimano. Am not averse to Campag on this build-up, yep its proven, bullet proof and right now it attracts good $, for those selling that is
Check the pics out.
Got one question the decal on the TT near the seat tube any takers?? (That's 7th pic starting L-R). Once the re-build is done, be good to get it right, and touch up the paint nicks...Paint codes anyone or go to the local auto paint shop and tell them, give it your best shot!
Thanks for the replies so far guys, if you have any groupsets/gruppo's

you want to sell am interested. to hear what you got.
Cheers, Roger
[QUOTE=MXL in Oz;16363352]Hi All,
I'm Roger, live in Melbourne Australia. Christmas came early and I purchased a very nice Merckx MXL Leader, frame and forks. The headset, not sure on the condition, spins ok but, needs to be stripped n checked properly. The BB (as most Merckx) is Italian as yet unknown and may well get the flick. MXLs are a great frame this is no exception.
