I have an adjustment knob inline on my downtube because my frame wasnt meant for the drop bars I put in it. Anyways the knob broke because the bike fell over on the hardwood floor, so it put the front derailleur out of alignment. A trip to my lbs fixed the derailleur problem, when I tried to explain the wheel problem I rode the bike in the parking lot and the noise was so low he told meni was crazy, lol.
Riding home I couldnhear it barely , but I had to focus on it, the wind and car noise drowned it out.i can hear it when im cruising with no wind or car noise. I guess I have to stop being ocd and deal with it.
Yeah but... You could just put in the earbuds and crank up the volume. But, if it is a mechanical problem it won't fix itself, or go away. I've got a riding buddy who drowns out the noise, then when it becomes a real problem, he calls and drags out the wallet. Women, and some men are notorious for turning up the radio to drown out mechanical problems with their cars, until they are stranded alongside the road. Don't stress over it, but continue the search for the noise. It could just save you down the road. Or if it's a problem just keep riding until finally decides to go kaput. Then you'll know.
