I have given up on receiving bike-related gifts. Even if I give my wife or daughter a list of bike stuff I need, they don't like buying bike gear for me and would probably get the wrong size or something I don't want. Eg, my wife gave me some awful Argyle bike socks one year and some "cycling ear muffs," which were useless if you wear a helmet.

However, I allow myself a Christmas budget every year for cycling-related presents from "Santa." My wife does the same thing with clothes that she wants because I could never pick out the right apparel.
