Shock horror about this, but I do agree with Ekdog's sentiments in his OP. I am always amazed how people get all twisted up about cruelty to animals such as dogs and cats because they are pets, but wildlife is fair game for running over with a motor vehicle.
I always get a perverse chuckle when I watch motorists willingly stop for turkeys, deer and whatever on the same local roadway where they wantonly harass cyclists. I guess we're just not cute enough to warrant such treatment.
