I bought most the parts as new takes offs from bike shops, eBay etc. it's also my MTB but I don't have any photos of it in that form yet(waiting for forks). I've always like the orca style schemes so I went ahead and did it.
Try looking for a serial number, mostly they're on the bottom bracket. With that you might be able to track it back to its roots.
