there is a subtle difference between a true cyclocross bike that is designed specifically for racing cyclocross, and a "gravel grinder," or "all road" or "adventure road" type of bike. Trek has the Crossrip, Specialized has the AWOL, Salsa Vaya, Raleigh Tamland, Surly Crosscheck, Novara Zealo (nasty harsh alu fork!), Niner RLT, Redline Conquest, etc. there are a TON of bikes that might suit you that are not technically "cyclocross" and I would be surprised if you cannot find any of these bikes at all at some local bike shops.

if you can get this bike in the next week or so, you should check out the Texas Chainring Massacre.
