those KlickFix extenders seemed promising, but it looks like you can't get the half that attaches to the bag on it's own? So the only way to retrofit the bag would be to cannibalize from another bag. Or I suppose I could unbolt the mounting hardware from the bag and put a foam spacer of some sort in there... I'll have to experiment with that.

I may end up getting one of the thorn bars and mounting it under the stem; I also found this bar extender that looks similar-ish/ pretty sturdy. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ADIKZAFTSWMNW
