This sounds like it could be fun. Gotta put that "new" bike of mine to good use. May be kind of difficult what with the weather we're having here in Chicago today, but I'm gonna give 100 miles for January a try. If the weather is too bad and I have to spin on a trainer at the gym, do those "miles" count?
I say count those miles! My reasoning goes like this: riding a trainer is boring, so you get some credit for "riding" while suffering boredom. I understand the bad weather keeps a lot of us from riding, so if the best you can do is ride a trainer (or rollers), you should be able to count those miles.
If it weren't for rollers, my mileage would be very small.
