Having used the SPD and the SPD-SL...I much prefer the SL. The 'connection" to the bike is just so much larger with the SL, the engagement is also easier. I also have very little problems walking in them (although I don't walk a ton...I wear them to ride, not to walk.).
Personally, having used both, I wouldn't ever go back to SPD.
Thanks for the opinion, do you think SLs are more walkable than other "road" cleats? Do you strictly use your road bike for rides? I've moved in that direction with my stable, but I still want to be able to pedal to longish errands and walk around /not look like a dork at the other end.
