Classic crack, usually the result excess spoke tension (and time). It will progress until the nipple or eyelet pulls through.
OTOH- if the wheel has 28 or more spokes, the failure won't lead to a disaster, so you might as well continue to ride until it seems ready to fail. Just don't leave town.
