The plastic wheel magnet bracket on my 1989 Cateye Vectra broke so I replaced it with a new screw type Cateye magnet. The computer registers the new magnet but the speed reading is way off (i.e. way too fast.) The wheel setting has not been changed. What did I miss here?

Yes, I know I should just replace this 25 year old computer. But what fun would that be?
