Only issues I've ever had with discs are from damage during shipment of the bike and playing polo. Zero issues from street riding.
I can tell you never owned a Ferrari or knew someone who has, a Ferrari if driven every day like one would with a Jeep will cost you a enough money on just one tune up you could have bought another used Jeep! and if you have an older Ferrari with the needed constant valve adjustments you could be out about $8,000, and newer ones need frequent timing belt replacements which will add another 2 to $3,000 on the cost of a tune up. And a major service will cost about 6 to $8,000. The average monthly service expense on a Ferrari, which keep in mind the average Ferrari is driven far less miles than the average Jeep, is right around $1300...you will never get that crazy on a Jeep unless your racing it off road...but if you're using that excuse then you have to raise the Ferrari to racing level too and then the expenses will more than exceed 10 times the cost of the $1300 I mentioned.

So no, a Ferrari will require a lot more wrenching and expenses than a Jeep.
