So, I have a bit of an update to my creaking/snapping bottom bracket issue (described waaaay back here
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...1#post15798914 in JUNE).
The shop tore down, cleaned, and rebuilt the crank and BB30 three or four times this summer. Each time the snapping and creaking would return after about 70-100 miles. They finally got Cannondale involved, and Cannondale has given me the following options:
1. Have them re-machine the bottom bracket interface in the existing frame (2013 10 5 - team while/green/blue), or
2. Replace the frame only with a "black" 2014 frame.
I'm not too excited about either option. I like the color of the 2013, but I question whether it will really solve the problem. They assure me there will be a new warranty on the frame, but I really don't want to go through the hassle of another season where my bike is in the shop four times. The "black" frame is, I'm guessing, the 10 5 black which I'm not too fond of. I highly doubt it's the 10 3 black on black since I'm seeing lots of posts about backorders (I ride a 52cm).
So, there is finally some progress. Cannondale seems to be accomodating, I'm just a little frustrated with the shop that it has taken this long to get Cannondale involved.
What are your thoughts about the two options?
