I bought an '87 SR500 last summer for $300. I thought it was a great deal due to the condition and the groupset/rims on the bike. I dropped another $140 to have the frame and fork powdercoated. The bike rides beautifully and I enjoy it. So to me that was money well spent even though I initially had concerns in the beginning about spending that amount on a used aluminum bike.
