Flunked out of college after two years but did later earn an ASN in nursing at age 35 and began working as an RN in hospitals (after being an LPN for ten years.) Finally completed a BS in Nursing three years ago at age 60 and now work in Quality/Performance Improvement for a Very Large Healthcare Organization. Spend much time looking at patient records to see if we are doing what we should be doing - for instance, checking the record to see if an approved antibiotic was given in the correct timeframe before a knee replacement surgery. (Prophylactic antibiotic administration can greatly reduce the incidence of surgical site infections.)
I try to ride to work a couple of times a week Spring through Fall.
