I grew up on the North Shore (Ipswich) but I'm now transplanted to Colorado.
I have a BS in geology with a minor in GIS. I work as a GIS Specialist at an archaeological consulting company. I ride to work most days, 4.5 flat miles one way.
It's not geology, but I enjoy the archaeology and my co-workers are all great people. Most of the time I make maps for them for their field work and to be included in the reports they have to submit for projects. Sometimes I go in the field to help out on surveys. I have to walk around in remote areas and look for artifacts. Sometimes I find cool stuff, like prehistoric projectile points (arrowheads). I also run the Trimble GPS when I am out there.
We also have an office cat. Best perk ever.
