Not using a dime of savings....
My daughter is helping me raise the money.... she will have the time of her life.
A little nervous sending my 17 year old overseas though.... tough to admit she's nearly an adult.
Did you sell your Trek to help finance her trip? If you did you are a great Dad (you may still be great Dad even if you did not sell the Trek to pay for the trip).
I have sent all four of my kids to trips to Europe (England and Spain). They all had a great time and learned a lot. Your daughter will be fine if she uses a little common sense, just like she would use here. If she is fluent in French that will make it that much easier for her.
BTW, I have yet to set foot outside the USA. Every time I save enough money for my dream trip to France, something comes along and the money disappears.
