The latest TVs let you stream right off the net via wireless. It helps to have a Masters in computer science to set them up.
Can't afford a new TV. I have a $2000 colonoscopy bill to pay. And yeah, wireless is a pain for me. I don't do it anymore. It's easier for me to run a hard-wire through the attic to any other computer in the house.

There are probably all kinds of newfangled ways that I'm not familiar with.....I'm still doing vcd (Video CD mpg) which is pretty archaic but you don't need special codecs for it, it encodes quickly and that's what I've acquired the video tools for.

One disadvantage I have up here is my slow internet cable connection causes the stream to stall a lot. (even when I'm not downloading the flash video) So I can watch it better full screen if I save it.

Another advantage of saving them to keep is that I can burn copies for fellow boxing fans since I watch a lot of boxing and have friends both at work and in my boxing forum that I pass them onto. There is certainly a wealth of old boxing videos on the tube. One of these guys can't seem to even figure out how to embed video, lol (Though I've tried to explain it to him). So I do the work and he sends me back copies of fights that I don't pay to watch.

Also have the TDF coverage from 1984 thru '90 plus parts of '93 & '95. lots of Eddy Merckx and Jacques Anquetil and other cycling documentaries which I pass on to an occasional riding partner.

Also save music which I strip from the videos and burn them onto audio CDs and pass those on to friends as well. So it does come in handy for me.

Video is something I've been capturing and playing with for awhile though. Some of this stuff is second nature to me and probably some other posters in here who are also YouTube posters as well.
