For commuter bikes, sure. For racing bikes, it'll be a long time.
Also, its interesting to note many cars are now going back to drive chains due to the hassles of timing belts.
Going back? They never uniformly left? my '92 Maxima, a '93 240SX, mothers 04 Matrix, Granddads 2004 Camry, my current 2005 Acura. All chain driven cams. I've only heard of belts in some low end economy cars back in like mid-90's.
