Finally knocked out one of my winter projects. A light weight rail trail/gravel bike on the narrow end of acceptable tires. Started life as an RRB store import (Tange 2) frame, worthy of some love despite some small dents and worn paint. A trip to the powder coater was ideal for this given the lack of provenance and want to expose it to gravel and grit for the rest of its life. Went with a road bike with MTB gearing range (albeit with a tighter cassette). Seems to shift reasonably enough, but a bit loose with that long cage. Won't know until our roads clear and we get above zero f again.
Proudly sporting a nifty VO saddle, courtesy my Secret Santa, that couldn't be looking better with the gray, black, silver theme of this otherwise parts bin buildup. Still needs the shakedown ride and cable trim, but it's screaming rail trail to me. Currently packing in 30's for tires, but could probably get up to 32's on it. Not quite as big as I'd like, but I've got the Croll mountstercross bike for heavy slogging.
Then, just when I thought I had this gravel bike thing licked, this followed me home (a brand new, never built 02 Lemond Poprad frameset, purchased for a song):
