How the hell do people crash during trackstands??? You just pedal out of it when it gets iffy, or put a foot down. Of course, if you practice clipped in at high spring tension...

Anyway, I used to crash every 2000 miles or so, which I consider very good. But I have already laid down the new fixie on its side twice in less than 1000mi... New geometry, new steering characteristics, new drive system take their toll in control.

So far, no significant damage to bike or yours truly, except when I was doing very sharp turns for fun 2 years ago. One got too tight, I went over the bar and ended up with 3 stitches in my chin.
