If you think you'll ride in the rain, the disc brakes would serve you well.

If, however, you would only ride in fair weather, then I'd take the benefit of the carbon fork over the disc brakes as regular v-brakes are plenty sufficient.

EDIT: ---- To expound upon what Bill's saying about doing an "endo", I believe he means that positively. As in......there is no real need for disc brakes as Vbrakes can stop you as well as anything else out there (which I can attest to). I'd also add that if Vbrakes are good enough for a $10,000 road bike, then they're good enough for our sub $1K hybrids!!
