This desire to put feet on the ground while seated is a problem. My princess insists on this. BUT, if you're able to do that, then pedaling will not only be uncomfortable, but also bad for your knees. The seat height should be a factor of your pedal reach.
I think people are suggesting really small bikes. 19" for someone 5'6" is simply too small. It think 21" is probably the bare minimum. Unless you want to put your feet on the ground. In that case, buy a Skut bike.
I think Leona is a bit more athletic and would like something with a bit of zip in it.
