Normal for you but imagine Montreal suddenly filled with tens of thousands of drivers, none of them with the right equipment, with no clue on how to drive and nothing done for any of the roads - and three hours up in that for a short trip home. Near a thousand accidents, close to a hundred injuries. The mass of abandoned cars look apocalyptic this morning. What's funny is that after the total lack of foresight by some, the local schools who own a big part of the problem are all closed tomorrow while the streets are likely to be clear, with no problem other than idiots spinning tires and cars on patches of ice.
For my part it wasn't actually all that bad, not abnormally cold even although the heavy sleet/rain was annoying. I wrapped up these quicky fake pogies on Monday, half a dozen thick layers of fleece surrounded by vinyl and taped on. They look like crap but function is flawless, I can't remember previously being so comfortable this winter. With no gloves on even. I can see why you iceman types swear by them
