Acutally if one rides a lot, having something remind you to start watching for cords, chain wear, etc. is not overthinking IMO. It sucks to to roll in to start a 100 mile club ride toward the end of a 200 mile week only to realize you needed to change out a tire. A little reminder comes in pretty handy.

I see winter is hitting some people pretty hard in the attitude department...
