Yeah, there are a lot of choices. I originally figured I'd use the better of the 2 light heads and have 2 battery packs if I didn't like the new lighthead, but the new light looks like it's the thrower I've been wanting to use with the Magicshine head with the wide angle lens. Having the lights and batteries use interchangeable parts would be ideal, I've got enough different battery types on there now as it is.
