I just ordered DA shifters and am going to replace the cables during install. I figure if I'm going to do it, now would be the time to do it. I have been researching for months about brake cables and shift cables. I have read up on each brand and I still feel like I know nothing. I find the reviews of each option puts me at a wash since half the reviews are positive and the rest are negative. I have even asked on here before but that was geared more towards weight. I'm looking for overall advice here. Cost, install, durability, performance, weight...etc

I know there are a lot of people on this forum who have different cables like Jagwire, ilinks, Yokozuna etc...

What are some of the pro's and cons here?

-Is it best to just to the brake cables and leave the shifting cables with traditional lines? Or visa-versa?

-If I understand it right, it is best to have no compression in your lines right?
